Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)

WellMind Behavioral Health and Wellness is seeking a credentialed PMHNP-BC interested in being a part of a quality, growing practice specializing in depression, anxiety, ADHD and PTSD for children adults, and our veterans. Our staff of therapists and psych nurse practitioners deliver individual care with an emphasis on coordinating care for our clients. We also offer IOP and Spravato as part of our treatment plans when needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assessment and Diagnosis:

· Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations.

· Diagnose mental health disorders based on clinical evaluations and standardized assessment tools.

· Seeking a professional willing to look at new technologies or tools to improve care

2. Treatment:

· Prescribe psychotropic medications, monitor dosages, and manage potential side effects.

· Offer psychotherapy and counseling services.

· Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the patient and the healthcare team.

3. Patient Education:

· Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, medications, potential side effects, and coping strategies.

4. Collaboration:

· Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals that refer clients to WellMind.

· Participate in weekly team meetings and case reviews.

5. Documentation:

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with legal regulations and facility standards.

· Coordinate documentation for patient insurance and billing purposes.

6. Continuing Education:

· Stay updated with the latest developments in the field of psychiatric nursing.

· Participate in ongoing education, training, and professional development activities.

7. Adherence to Ethical Standards:

· Uphold the ethical guidelines and standards of the nursing profession.

· Respect patient confidentiality and autonomy.

Qualifications:

1. Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing.

2. Board Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).

3. Active and unrestricted nursing license in Tennessee

4. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems. WellMind uses Tebra/Kareo

5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Compensation:

Salary: $120,000 - $135,000 base with reachable incentives to reach $165,000+

Job Description:

The nurse practitioner will provide health promotion, screening, safety instructions, management of acute and chronic illnesses/diseases in adult and pediatrics. Accordingly, the nurse practitioner will do the following:

  • Obtain a comprehensive developmental, health, and medical history
  • Perform physical examinations
  • Order and interpret tests, laboratory tests, and diagnostic procedures
  • Systematically compare and contrast clinical findings in formulating differential diagnosis
  • Assess and diagnose illnesses, including chronic and acute/critical conditions
  • Consult with other health care providers as necessary
  • Monitor and evaluate the accuracy of diagnosis and effectiveness of prescribed treatment plans
  • Monitor growth and development
  • Monitor patient response to treatment. If the patient is a child, monitor patient and family response to treatment
  • Refer patients to appropriate health care providers for further medical management or consultation

 Position Requirements

  • Must possess an unrestricted license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of Mississippi
